Inventory Control and Point of Sale for Retail Liquor - Innovative Computer Solutions

Team

Better Together

There is no easier way to describe the people of ICS. We are all focused on providing the best possible customer experience as it relates to the installation, training, usage, and support of Vision. Please enjoy our team member stories below.

Tony Pitale

With Anne, his wife and business partner, Tony started ICS and Control +Plus over 27 years ago. Having been employed by a few large corporations, Tony was positive that working for your own company would be more rewarding. And so, history was made. As the developers of the original inventory control system for retail liquor stores, Tony and Anne worked long days, every day to create a system that has been imitated by several other software development companies. With the release of Vision in 2001, ICS continues to set the mark by which all other systems are compared.

As for Tony, he has gone from developer, sales person, support rep, installer and trainer to overseeing a company of 10 superbly talented individuals, all with the express goal of maintaining a personal connection to each new retail liquor store customer. And with the many years that have passed, Tony and his group have amassed more knowledge and experience in the retail liquor store business, than any other vendor in this industry.

All of this while raising three very talented and exceptional children in their own right and seeing the arrival of two grandsons to boot.

When not at work, Tony can be found doing a variety of activities, such as walking the “boards” with Anne, tending to his sizeable garden, or the even larger vineyard (from which he makes his own wine), to sailing. And when the weather permits, he is seen saving fuel by riding his bike the five miles to work.

Anne Leyh

Co-owner Anne Leyh founded ICS with her husband Tony Pitale in 1980. At the outset, Anne and Tony “did it all”, from design and development of Control +Plus, to sales and support. As the company grew, Anne became the overseer of all things financial, as well as the lead programmer for Control +Plus.

With the introduction of Vision, development on Control +Plus was phased out over a few years. At the same time, Anne’s role at ICS transitioned into that of Comptroller, Human Resources and Insurance Administrator and all-around manager of much that goes on at ICS.

Beyond the brick walls of ICS, Anne really enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Whenever possible, Anne can be found reading – probably her most favorite activity. She also enjoys walking the local boardwalks, playing a weekly card game with some family and friends, and eating the gourmet dinners that Tony loves to prepare.

Jim McMillan

Jim McMillan has been with ICS for 8 years and is involved in Marketing, Product Direction and Development, Customer Information, and Support.

Jim has over 35 years of computer experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, health care, distribution and retail.  His knowledge of the customer process and adaptation of software to meet their needs enhances the customer relationship by providing creative solutions within the constraints of the applications.

Among his significant previous positions he served as Senior Vice President of Home Care Information Systems, a Misys company and was President of Queue Associates, both located in New Jersey.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and has appeared in numerous conferences and panels relating to the computer industry.

John Modla

John arrived full time at ICS around 2001 or earlier, coming from a career as a technical instructor at AT&T and Lucent, teaching classes in Java and Unix. Prior to his full time gig at ICS, John consulted with Tony and Anne for a number of years on programming issues dealing with ICS’s legacy system, Control +Plus.

John convinced Tony & Anne that it was time to re-write Control +Plus. And Vision was born. Since the fateful day of the idea, John has been the developer responsible for most of the features that you see and use in the POS Register and the Main Menu.

Outside of the office, John can be found riding his bike or doing some type of exercise. Most important to John is spending time with his Italian-born wife and his two sons who are 7 and 10 years old. When he is not writing Java code for Vision, he will most likely be spending quality time with his wife or thinking up some wildly creative learning adventure for his very inquisitive boys.

Marissa Crecca

Marissa is a graduate of William Paterson University with a BA in Communication.

She has several years of experience training computer fundamentals to faculty and students at William Paterson University. Post college, Marissa worked as a consultant for the computer department of a mortgage bank.

At ICS, Marissa is our Technical Support department manager. In this role she is responsible for overseeing system installations, customer support, and customer training.

Between completing college and joining ICS, Marissa was well traveled, living in San Diego, St. Louis, Miami and North Jersey. We are very happy that she decided to move back to her first “love”, the Jersey shore.

Besides her dedication to what she does at ICS, Marissa is active in several sports and loves the beach, almost as much as she loves music. In fact, she is a DJ for private events in her spare time.

Carla Bautista

Carla joins us after being a “stay-at-home” mom, raising two of the cutest boys any mother could have.

Since graduating from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, Carla has worked in marketing, public relations, customer service, recruiting and fundraising.

A true Jersey Shore girl, Carla can be seen running the boards, hanging on the beach, working in the garden, cheering her boys on at karate, baseball, basketball and whatever event they are involved in or cruising around on her pink bike!

Carla’s niche at ICS is hardware ordering, IPCharge account maintenance, working with the techs for installation scheduling, shipping and receiving, and just about anything else that is tossed her way.

Nicole Arnone

For the past several years Nicole has been living up north and working as an Accountant for Sanctuary Group and Red Bull N.A. She recently returned to Monmouth County, NJ with a degree from Kaplan University in Business Accounting and 10 years of related experience under her belt.

In addition to her major role of bookkeeping at ICS, Nicole works closely with Carla to maintain in house inventory and office management.

She prefers staying active both inside and outside of the office. In her free time she can usually be found at the gym, at a show, or running around to see friends and family.

Brad Day

A native of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Brad followed the sun to Arizona where he graduated cum laude from Arizona State University. While obtaining his Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies in business and communications he worked as a ramp operations supervisor for U.S. Airways.

As one of the newest members of the Technical Support team, Brad works with ICS customers installing, training, and troubleshooting their Vision POS systems. One of Brad’s favorite things about working for ICS is meeting new and interesting clients as well as developing positive relationships within the retail liquor community.

When away from the office, Brad spends most of his time with friends and family enjoying good food, wine, and funny movies. He also loves dogs.

Percy Rice

Percy joined ICS in June 2010 and brings with him over 14 years of systems experience in a variety of industries. These include Web development, media content provision, IT management, audio/wideo production, and customer service.

As a member of the technical support team, Percy works with ICS customers installing, training, and troubleshooting their Vision POS systems.

Since 2003 Percy has produced music for various MTV show's such as Spring Break, True Life, MTV VMA's and various VH1 programs. In his spare time, Percy enjoys spending time with his children at the beach or doing creative projects. When he gets bored, he enjoys reading technical manuals related to networking, software development and web design.

Matt Ramirez

Matt joined ICS in late August as a database administrator. Prior to joining ICS, Matt has worked in the technology industry since his graduation from Kean University in 2005.  His past experience includes working at Vonage doing trouble shooting on their E911 system and later developing tools to improve workflow within his team.  His most recent position was with Verizon, where he developed applications for their financial reporting system.

Matt is responsible for the in-house network and servers at ICS as well as anything server related for our customers. As the newest member of ICS, Matt plans to apply his knowledge and background to improve the products and services that ICS provides to it’s clients.

If Matt is not in front of a computer, you can usually find him turning a wrench in his garage or running at a local park.
